How to use the Priority Rule in Blockify - Easy Guide 👍

We've designed the Priority Rule feature to allow you to organize the priority of various rules according to your specific needs.

Understanding Blacklist and Whitelist:

  • The 'Blacklist' means blocking or redirecting visitors.

  • The 'Whitelist' means these visitors on this list will always be allowed, except if they use a VPN or TOR and you have the VPN/Proxy, TOR blocker on.

How Priority Rule works:

  • When someone visits your store, we check their conditions based on their order from top to bottom.

  • The condition at the top is checked first (Priority 1), then the second one, and so on.

  • We give you a starting set of rules as the picture above. e put whitelist conditions first, so they are checked before the blacklist. You can change them to fit your needs.

How to use the Priority Rule feature:

  • You can change the order of these conditions by dragging and dropping them in the list.

  • Put the most important condition at the top.

  • Conditions are checked in the order they appear. If a visitor matches a condition at the top, they don't go through the rest.

  • After you've set up the order of your rules, click the 'Save' button. This will keep all the changes you've made to the rule order.

  • If you want to go back to the rules you had set up before, just click the 'Refresh' button.

Example to Make It Clear:

  • Imagine I have set up rules like this: Block IP 1.1.1.1, Block ISP Viettel, Block all countries, Whitelist Vietnam.

  • My intention here is to sell only to customers in Vietnam and not worldwide. I want to block a person who has IP 1.1.1.1 in Vietnam, and block certain visitors in Vietnam using Viettel as their ISP (Viettel is an internet service provider in Vietnam). I chose to block these because I have found these visitors harmful to my store.

  • Now, I will arrange the order of the list to suit my needs. Please refer to my screenshot for guidance:

  • First, I'll drag the Blacklist – IP address to the top of the list. This means that when the IP 1.1.1.1 tries to access my store, it will be immediately blocked.

  • Next, if a visitor from Vietnam using Viettel as their ISP accesses my store, they will also be immediately blocked. Even though they passed the first condition, they will be blocked by the second condition, which is Blacklist ISP.

  • Other visitors in Vietnam who do not meet the first and second conditions can access my store normally.

  • Customers from other countries will be blocked from accessing my store, as they do not meet the first seven conditions.
